MathType 4.0 for Windows is MathType's biggest release since 1.0, with many new and improved features.
New Euclid Math Font Set
The Euclid font set gives a document's text and mathematical notation a consistent, industry-standard look.
Color
Color all or parts of equations – great for working with presentation software, such as Microsoft PowerPoint. MathType also handles CMYK, RGB and spot color for page layout software, such as QuarkXPress, PageMaker, etc.
Customizable Keyboard Shortcuts
Assign your own keyboard shortcuts to all MathType symbols, templates and commands. Keyboard shortcuts consist of one or two keystrokes, each with possible Ctrl, Alt, or Shift modifiers.
MathML for Math and Science Communication
MathML, an XML-based language for representing mathematical notation in Web-based technical documents, is a Recommendation of the World Wide Web Consortium. MathML is playing an increasingly important role in education, publishing and information exchange on the Internet. Design Science personnel are actively involved in the W3C Math Working Group that created MathML and continue to develop and support it. MathType’s MathML translator will give you a headstart in this emerging technology.
Drag & drop Equation Editing
Use drag & drop to quickly move or copy whole equations or parts of equations from MathType into your documents or into the MathType toolbar.
Insert Symbol Dialog

Unicode is a character encoding standard that attempts to include all characters in use in the world’s languages and in mathematics.
